A message of love and gratitude to my friends

I hope and pray this letter finds you all well and at peace with the Lord; and those who are not well -- for I'm finding many who are not -- at least to find that peace.

Please forgive me for taking so long to respond to the many kind and loving messages I have received since this whole saga began in late February (2020). Few people suspect such news in their late 50's, and fewer still believe it! It's true enough, however -- I've seen the scans and felt the effects.

I have been diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma of the brain which has been treated with chemotherapy and radiation to stop the growth of the tumor. This means the cancer is temporarily arrested and hopefully will remain that way for a while with continued treatment -- chemotherapy and an Optune cap. That is coming up in about a week, pending insurance approval. The primary effects of all this have been weakness, sleepiness, and nausea.

But I'm not writing this to complain. On the contrary, this is a letter of thanksgiving. I'm being set free from this world of trouble and pain! I have two main regrets: that I leave so much undone that I should have done and that I must leave my dear boy Danny here without me. I trust to your mercy in both cases.

So I leave you with a heartfelt note of thanks for all you have done for us over the years, and for all you are doing now. Thank God for His unspeakable gift -- His Son, and eternal life. Our trust and hope is in Him. All things are in His hands. This truly is not the end!

Love and Blessings,

Carlye
